The Podgorica Hotel is located on the banks of the River Moraca, in the immediate vicinity of the administrative and political centre of the capital – the City Hall, the Parliament of Montenegro and the Government building. Nearby, just five to ten minutes walk away lies the business centre with its shopping malls and numerous cafes and restaurants. The reconstruction of the hotel, completed in 2004 by the new owner Normal Tours, preserved the original authenticity of the architecture, while offering the standards of a 4 star hotel. The architect Svetlana Kana Radovic won a national architecture award for this project, and the Podgorica Hotel was the winner of the highest national recognition, the Wild Beauty Award, as the best city hotel in Montenegro in both 2005 and 2006. Known as a successful host to big events, the Podgorica Hotel accommodated referees and delegates of the European Basketball Championships which were held in our city in 2005. After the reconstruction of 2004, the Podgorica Hotel was categorised as a four star hotel. The interior of the Podgorica Hotel has been designed using modern lines and natural materials, and its unique architectural designs are complemented by high category hotel standards. The combination of natural materials – wood and stone – is enriched by the modern furnishing of the rooms and suites.
